FleishmanHillard India recognised at Cannes Lions 2017 for ‘Free a Girl Movement’

FleishmanHillard (FH) India, a part of Omnicom Group Inc., has been recognized along with J. Walter Thompson Amsterdam at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for the Gold Direct Lion-winning entry for Free a Girl Movement’s “School for Justice” campaign.

The “School for Justice” campaign, which is an education program, helps take survivors of sex trafficking out of prostitution and into prosecution. It was aimed at getting taboo topics around child prostitution discussed openly in the Indian society and amongst the media; thereby encouraging dialogue about the long-standing issue plaguing society.

FH India handled the PR and social media components of the campaign locally. From creating awareness about the burgeoning issue of sex trafficking through impactful media channels to building and managing the social media community for the campaign, the team undertook an integrated approach for the campaign. They collaborated with the country’s leading counselors from the Supreme Court to garner support for “School for Justice”, in addition to encouraging and training the girls to embrace their confident selves as they faced the media and stepped towards a new life.

The campaign proved very successful, garnering endorsements from international organizations and high engagement with local audiences. “School for Justice” was also shortlisted for an additional Direct Lion, as well as in the PR, Glass, Mobile and Outdoor categories.

Overall, FH and its clients have won five Lions at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is held in Cannes, France each June, and brings together thousands of advertising, marketing and communications professionals to celebrate the power of creativity.
