Genesis Burson Marsteller announce new leadership appointments

Genesis Burson Marsteller has announced Krishna Vilasini Bharadwaj as India Practice Chair for their Health and Wellness Practice, as well as Charu Benegal as IPC for the Brand and Consumer Practice.

Krishna, who moves from her previous role as Co-Chair for GBM’s Consumer and Brand Practice, will focus on the new partnership with Medulla Communications.

Krishna, who has experience within journalism, FMCG, Healthcare, Technology and Fashion, worked as Account Manager at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide for over 2 years before moving to GBM.

Commenting on her plans for the practice, Krishna said, “With more players, increased competition and closely followed regulatory framework, differentiated communications will be a key to win in the healthcare marketplace. Our strategic partnership with Medulla Communications will enable us to partner with industry leaders and help them navigate the complex health and wellness communications landscape with our comprehensive offerings in this space.”

Cheru Benegal, who has been appointed as IPC of the Brand and Consumer Practice, previously worked at Star TV in New York. Charu has also held positions at Lowe Lintas, Sony Entertainment and Good Relations India.

She will be supported by Rohit Moudgill, Co-Chair of Brand and Consumer Practice, based in Gurgaon.

Charu said: “While I have tremendously enjoyed my stint in New York, I am happy to be back in India and quite enthusiastic to be a part of such an inspirational leadership team at Genesis B-M. I am confident of supporting the organisational growth by providing strategic client direction and building and growing the Brand and Consumer Practice nationally. ”
