Shweta Munjal joins oil major Nayara Energy as VP, brand and corporate communications

Oil major Nayara Energy, has announced the appointment of Shweta Munjal as vice-president, brand and corporate communications. In her new role,  Munjal will lead the corporate and digital communications programs to develop and build the brand identity. She will be responsible for strengthening Nayara Energy’s reputation and create relevant engagement for the company.

Speaking to PRmoment India, Munjal said, "This is a true blue opportunity to leverage the brand we have and synthesise its communication narrative."

Its fairly rare for a new brand to emerge in the oil and gas sector and Munjal's mandate includes internal communication, brand narrative, digital and identifying the channels of communication, including advertising, for a unified brand narrative for Nayara. 

In August 2017, Nayara was acquired by Russian oil firm Rosneft and an investment consortium comprising of global commodity trading firm Trafigura and UCP Investment Group.

Prior to joining Nayara Energy, Munjal headed the corporate communications department across Asia Pacific for Thomson Reuters. She brings with her over 16 years of progressive experience of working with global organizations across industry verticals viz. technology, retail, FMCG and financial. In the past, she has been a crucial part of organizations like Yahoo, Intuit and Mondelez International.
