The PRactice to lead PR mandate for chip major AMD India

After a competitive multi-agency pitch, The PRactice has been awarded the communications mandate for 'Advanced Micro Devices' or AMD in India, effective October 2018.

Confirming the news, AMD’s corporate communications manager in India, Anita George, said, "The PRactice’s integrated approach to communications, along with their in-depth understanding of the semiconductor market and passion for technology gave us the confidence to award them this mandate. We look forward to working closely with The PRactice as we expand our portfolio of high-performance computing and graphics products and continue strengthening the AMD corporate brand in India.”

The appointment will see The PRactice' rollout external communications solutions for the company to drive greater awareness about AMD’s high-performance computing and graphics products in India.

Commenting on the win, Vivek Rana CEO of The PRactice, said, “This is our second stint with AMD and we are thrilled to be working again with one of the leading chip designers today. As AMD enters its 50th year of existence, we are excited with this partnership and the opportunity to re-imagine the public relations program, aimed at taking its customer preference quotient to the next level.”

The win is also interesting in light of the fact that The Practice is currently undergoing a maturely handled leadership transition from Rana back to founder Nandita Lakshmanan. Both Lakshmanan and Rana told PRmoment India last month that the firm is concentrating hard on reassuring clients and their internal stakeholders.
