The Future of Influence PR Conference 2017

Two India specific PR books launched recently

8th January 2015

One of the pet peeves of those working in the PR business is the acute lack of India specific books on the opportunities and challenges of the PR business.

Now, there are two such books available, both by first time authors. The first by founder, Zero Hours Strategies and Co-Founder, The PRomise Foundation, Amith Prabhu, titled, “Taking PRide in Public Relations”, includes a wide range of topics; from tips on handling the journo-PR equation to the need for politicians to undertake media training to even a note on learning PR from the Pope.

The second book: “PRactice What you Preach”, by senior PR practitioner, lecturer and a blogger at Vikypedia.in, Vikram Kharvi.

Author, Vikram Kharvi says, “This book will provide the practicing PR professionals with tips and tricks of the trade and for the students of public relations across all levels it is aimed to be an invaluable study aid and a quick peek into the industry they plan to enter.”

The book covers tips on how to create your own personal bag as a PR professional, the importance of domain knowledge and creating content.

Madan Bahal, MD, Adfactors PR, in the foreword of the book says that, “Vikram has done a fine job in explaining why it is imperative for a PR professional to keep oneself updated at all times. Indeed, a PR consultant needs to engage with multiple stakeholders from different walks of life and develop multi-faceted relationships with each community. He has drawn beautiful parallels to the art of PR with examples from mythology and metaphorical situations. This, I believe, will make the book an easier and more interesting read among budding and prospective PR practitioners.”
