Every June and December since 2009, social media strategist Vincenzo Cosenza has updated his world map of social networks. Comparing December 2012's findings with those of the past, we can see popularity shift as websites and online users evolve.
What starts out as a list of 17 top sites has now been narrowed down to just five. As can be expected, Facebook retains the number one spot across the globe as the most active social networking website. Over one billion monthly active users cements them as a gargantuan digital force to be reckoned with. Will anyone knock it off the top the social network leaderboard?
