Girish Balachandran, who was formerly with Waggener Edstorm in the UK and has also worked for Ketchum Public Relations, has joined Avian Media as National Marketing Director and Group business Director and will start work in his new role on the 9th of October, 2014.
Girish’s role will be to handle marketing, new business and key client relations for Avian Media.Girish will work closely with the leadership team at Avian Media to further align and strengthen the company’s operations in India, to drive growth and profitability for the firm.
Listing his priorities, Girish said that,“Public relations agencies in Europe operate in one of the most mature markets in the world. The economy has been in the longest ever recovery period and good brands and agencies have reset their business models and thinking in order to move forward with resilience and dynamism. Meanwhile, the stakeholder and media landscape in India is incredibly local. My experience will help both multinational brands wanting to navigate to India as well as Indian brands exploring new markets in UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. I look forward to working with the leadership team to achieve Avian Media’s ambition of becoming a trusted advocacy partner for clients through new innovation, creativity and thinking for our teams."
Last month Avian Media COO, Girish Huria, left to join eBay India as their corporate communications lead.
Nitin Mantri, CEO and Business Partner at Avian Media, who was also recently elected as Vice President – PRCAI told PRmoment India that, “Avian Media is now following a domain expertise led approach to their consultancy. A flatter, leaner structure is in place with specific domain practices in areas such as digital, financial and entertainment and media.”
Avian Media is yet to take a call on filling the COO position.
