India gets its first post graduate school of strategic communications

The Indian PR business may finally see its first school for preparing industry ready PR professionals. PRAXIS co-founder Amith Prabhu has set up ‘The Indian School of Communications and Reputation’  (SCoRe) in Gurgaon. SCoRe is India’s first post-graduate school dedicated to strategic communications and reputation management.

NS Rajan, Global Partner and Managing Director of Ketchum Sampark will be the Chief Mentor to the Founding Team. Rajan who is lending his support in a personal capacity, told PRmoment India that, “I have been talking to people over a number of years about elevating the level of talent for PR. Currently the PR courses on offer in India are fairly bookish and do not have anything to do with reality. More often than not, they have to unlearn what they have picked up from the available courses. While I will be underwriting some of the expenses, it’s more about the joy of giving back to the PR business than about profit.”

Amith Prabhu, Founding Dean said that, “As strategic communications becomes pivotal to the success of organisations it is important to have well-rounded talent”. He added, “SCoRE hopes to offer a robust learning opportunity for students who want to build a career in communications. It also aims to become the fountain head from where organisations can hire smart talent.”

SCoRe has organised it content around 4 centres of learning: Reputation Management, General Studies, Strategic Communications and Allied Learning. It is also the only school in India which will offer political PR and public affairs as a study option.
