PepsiCo India awards brand communications mandate to Edelman India

PepsiCo India, one of the largest consumer companies in India has awarded the brand communications mandate to Edelman India. PepsiCo India has 22 brands in the country incluuding Pepsi, Quaker Oats, Getorade, Kurkure, Lays and Tropicana; making this one of the largest consumer PR mandates in the country.

Rakesh Thukral, managing director, Edelman India told PRmoment India that, " We are delighted to confirm that Edelman India will represent PepsiCo India as its brand communications partner in India, across the full portfolio of beverages, snacks and nutrition brands. We look forward to a truly exciting and fruitful partnetship with this iconic company and its' brands."

PepsiCo India has been seeking a replacement for Genesis Burson-Marsteller for several months. In fact, market sources told PRmoment India last month that GB-M did not even pitch for the business again, this after handling the mandate for nearly a decade. As reported by PRmoment last month, three agencies, Cohn & Wolfe Six Degrees PR, Weber Shandwick India and Edelman India, were shortlisted after the pitching process. Now Edelman India has taken on the brand PR manadte.

Sources told PRmoment that Cohn & Wolfe Six Degrees PR, is likely to have been awarded the mandate for corporate communications and CSR.
