Tech PR veteran Vivek Padiyar joins TCS as head, corporate communications

Former vice-president, technology, Weber Shandwick, Vivek Padiyar has taken over as head, corporate communications at TCS, India's largest MNC IT firm, operating on over 46 countries. Padiyar is a tech PR veteran with stints at Perfect Relations as director and practice head, technology and at the tech-focused PR firm, Text 100. Padiyar is an alumnus of Xavier Institute of Communications and the Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics.

TCS is widely considered the lynchpin of the Tata Group and the biggest contributor to its' profits. It is also one of India's largest companies by market capitalisation and a valuable global IT brand. 

Last year,  Rajesh Gopinathan took over from N Chandrasekaran who was appointed as the Chairman of Tata Sons. The communication department also saw a big move at TCS with Pradipta Bagchi who was serving as the global head of communications at the Tata Consultancy Services, moved on to become group chief communications officer at Tata Sons.
