Data-Led wellness brands are working with health Influencers to personalise storytelling: Abhay Health's Apurv Abhay Modi explains

The wellness industry has come a long way from offering casual advice to now providing data-driven wellness solutions with the help of health influencers. The health influencer has not only contributed to the wellness dialogue but has also taken that information from many health sectors, leveraged their knowledge, and combined it with real-time health data to offer their followers individualized/ personalized input on how to plan their wellness with their data.

For instance, Kayla Itsines, founder of The Sweat app, has 30 million users globally and provides users with a straightforward, purposely built workout, as per the individual goals that the user can track and amend over time. The evolution from one-size-fits-all to data-informed personalization is creating a new age that is revolutionizing physical fitness. The Sweat app allows women to use their data to track their progress, modify their workouts as they continue to achieve their goal, such as building muscle, maintaining weight, or losing weight.

Similarly, MyFitnessPal has over 200 million users and has also helped a lot of people improve their health through individualized tracking of diet and exercise. We know that health influencers who use MyFitnessPal not only discuss their experience with MyFitnessPal, but they also share and provide focused advice based on health-related data using MyFitnessPal.

There are studies that show that individuals who log meals are 25% more likely to meet their weight loss goals. Having access to data-informed tools provides better results.

Leaders in the wearable health tech space include brands such as Fitbit and Garmin, with Fitbit having sold more than 100 million devices worldwide. These products also monitor health indicators, steps taken, heart rate, sleep, and calories burned, which influencers can share with their followers. The power of this information sharing is that users receive direct, actionable feedback about their health, which provides a real sense of control and empowerment.

According to the Influencer Marketing Hub, 89% of consumers are likely to trust influencer recommendations more than to trust traditional ads, and personal data sharing only deepens trust. By promoting wearable gadgets and health apps, influencers can engage or influence their followers in a more significant way that provides them with real benefits that resonate with modern consumers.

In my opinion, the future of health and wellness depends on data, and it is the influencers that are leading this change. Many brands now include personal health information in their products. Influencers are defining the conversation about welfare, giving consumers the power to make health decisions that are informed and can be acted upon.
