Aakash Aggarwal has joined Uber as the glad of safety communications, India and South Asia, after 10 years at leading PR firm Genesis BCW. Aggarwal updated his new post on LinkedIn.
In his new role, Aakash will be responsible for driving the safety mandate for Uber – something that has evolved from personal safety to health safety during the pandemic.
Cutting across rider and driver safety, this is an important pillar of Uber’s communication efforts in India and South Asia. He will report to Satinder Bindra, Uber’s director of communications for India and South Asia who is part of the regional leadership team too.
In his previous role, Aakash was director, consumer technology practice for north India. Having grown from an associate at Genesis BCW to the firm’s youngest director, he was the client leader for the firm’s key relationships such as MakeMyTrip, BYJU’S, Canon and Uber.
As part of his stint with the corporate and government practice, he designed and executed campaigns for Punjab National Bank after it was hit by India’s biggest banking fraud and helped revive the communication for the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign.
He has won several awards at the national and international level including the #GodrejPRmomentAdfactors3030 in 2018.
