Aseem Sood is the first Indian and Asian global chair of AMEC

Aseem Sood has taken over in May 2022 as the new chair of The International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC).Sood, who is also CEO, of Impact Research & Measurement Pvt. Ltd will take over the position for a two-year term.

The handover took place in Vienna at the AMEC Global Summit 2022. Sood takes over from Richard Bagnall, global managing partner, Carma who has held the AMEC Chair position for three successful terms 

Sood takes over at a critical time for measurement as the widespread use of digital campaigns and data-led campaigns have called for both nuanced and robust tools for measurement in communication.

Commenting on his new role, Sood said, "It is an honour to be elected as the Chairman of AMEC. It will be difficult to match what Richard Bagnall has achieved in his tenure, but with his continued support, our board is aiming to continue to build AMEC and the industry for the benefit of its members, clients and partners. AMEC will invest more into education and also push AMEC into modern conversations around data science and technology."

Richard Bagnall, global managing partner, Carma said “It has been an enormous privilege to chair AMEC for the last 6 years. I’m grateful to everyone who has supported me and the association during this time. Our tools and assets including the Integrated Evaluation Framework, Barcelona Principles, Measurement Maturity Mapper, and planning guides have been translated into multiple languages and are in use all over the world."

Bagnall added, "I know the association is in great hands with Aseem coming in as chair. He will form a formidable team with our global MD Johna Burke, the international board and all of our members.”
