Aviation, tech expert Gaurav Sahni takes over in integrated brand, marketing and communications role at Air Works

Gaurav Sahni, the former GM of corporate communications at Jet Airways is now AVP and head, brand, marketing and communications at Air Works Group.
Sahni joined the homegrown maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) firm in July this year and is handling an integrated role across brand, marketing and communications.
Air Works that does specialised maintenance and repair work for areas such as landing gear, avionics, components and aviation structures such as airframe is India’s largest, independent engineering and MRO services provider and aims at becoming a global hub for the south-east region for these operations.
Air Works, set up in 1951 in India, works with private planes, scheduled commercial planes and defence in various capacities.
In July this, during the first budget presentation of Modi 2.0, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced tax-friendly policy intervention to provide a strong push to the MRO aviation vertical. Experts say that making MRO a net exporter in India will result in job creation and foreign exchange savings.
Currently, Dubai has emerged as a hub for MRO services for the Middle East, Asian region.
