BMW India signed on Avian Media in November 2014, to handle its PR mandate. This includes BMW cars, the iconic Mini Cooper model and the launch of the sports hybrid BMW i8 next month. Nitin Mantri, CEO and Business Partner at Avian Media, who was also elected as Vice President, PRCAI, last year, has confirmed that Avian Media is now looking after communications for the luxury car maker.
BMW has taken on the PR consultancy after a gap of three to four years. Before that Genesis Burson-Marstellar and Perfect Relations had been their agencies. A decade old, Avian Media has 6 offices in India, 120 employees and over 60 clients.
According to Overdrive.in there is a fast growing appetite for luxury cars in India. As per a report by JD Power Asia Pacific, luxury car sales in India have gone up by a massive 112 per cent in 2014 to 35,541 units from 16,804 units back in 2013. This however, has resulted in lower satisfaction among luxury brand owners with after sales services, as dealers struggle to cope with high demand.
