Chris Wade has been appointed vice president of communications at Reuters, stepping into the global communications leadership role. Based in London, he will report to Thomson Reuters chief marketing and communications officer Amy Messano.
The appointment brings significant media experience to one of the world's most recognisable news organisations at a time when communications leadership in global newsrooms is under increasing scrutiny.
Chris most recently led communications and corporate affairs at WPP, where he spent more than 14 years before departing last year.
Prior to his long stint at WPP, he held communications leadership roles at Guardian Media Group and Trinity Mirror.
