Genesis Burson-Marsteller rebrands as Genesis BCW

Genesis Burson-Marsteller today announced its formal rebranding as Genesis BCW, effective immediately. The rebranding follows the February 2018 merger of Burson-Marsteller and Cohn & Wolfe to form BCW (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), one of the world’s largest, full-service, global communications agencies.

“We are excited to take on the BCW brand proposition as part of our new identity,” said Prema Sagar, chief executive officer & founder, Genesis BCW. “The respect, credibility and leadership that brand Genesis has established in India will only grow further with the vision, energy and fresh offerings of BCW. We are incredibly excited about this next chapter.”

Founded in 1992 by Sagar, the 26-year journey of Genesis mirrors that of the public relations industry in India and tells a story of constantly pushing boundaries. Since then Genesis has developed proprietary tools for reputation management, and more recently, developed its Live! Newsroom service. In 2005, Genesis PR became part of the Burson-Marsteller global network under the WPP Group and was rebranded Genesis Burson-Marsteller.

Genesis BCW will continue to be led by Sagar, reporting to BCW's Matt Stafford in APAC, along with newly appointed managing director Deepshikha Dharmaraj. Together with the other members of the India management team, they will ensure continuity and excellence in the firm’s engagements with its clients, people, industry and community.

“In India, the Genesis brand is synonymous with PR excellence and as an employer of choice for up and coming communicators. The brand will continue to thrive and resonate in our industry as Genesis BCW,” said Matt Stafford, president, Asia-Pacific, BCW, to whom Sagar reports. “Our India team is on a roll. The end of year financial results for 2018 have just been finalized and Genesis BCW achieved its highest annual revenue growth in its 26 years of existence.”

A separate announcement on the formal rebranding of Cohn & Wolfe Six Degrees as Six Degrees BCW will be made soon.
