Inshorts awards PR mandate to Adfactors PR

News app Inshorts, that offers news stories curated in 60 words, has rappointed Adfactors PR, India’s largest PR firm, as its communication partner. As part of the mandate, Adfactors PR will be handling the strategic communications mandate for Inshorts across the key target markets.

Azhar Iqubal, CEO, Inshorts, said, "At inshorts, we are exponentially growing our user base, building new content streams and undergoing a transformation from being a news app to a content discovery platform. We were looking for a partner that understood technology as well as media and Adfactors emerged as the right fit. In the next 3 months, we are looking to mount a large scale outreach campaign and are glad to bring Adfactors onboard as a Communication partner."

Madan Bahal, Co-founder and managing director, Adfactors PR, said, “We are delighted to partner with an innovative and fast-growing brand such as Inshorts. The young team at Inshorts brings in immense zest and passion to the brand, making it a fun mandate to work on. We have the requisite expertise in managing reputation mandates for start-ups and are confident of helping Inshorts create its own identity among their stakeholders.”

Inshorts was founded in 2013 by a team of three IITians - Azhar Iqubal, Anunay Arunav of IIT Delhi and Deepit Purkayastha of IIT Kharagpur. Currently, the app serves more than half a billion page views every month. Formerly called News in Shorts, the company rebranded itself as “inshorts" and recently raised a Series B round of $20 million dollars from Tiger Global Venture.

In its new avatar, the application is transitioning from a news aggregator to a content discovery platform, incorporating a broad spectrum of content forms such as videos, infographics, podcasts, blogs and others.
