After a pitching process that first began in March 2014, Microsoft India has awarded the Microsoft business to Edelman India. Edelman takes over from IPAN Hill+Knowlton Strategies that handled the account between 2011 and 2014. PRmoment India was the first to break the news Sunday morning.
Rakesh Thukral, COO, Edelman India told PRmoment India that “I am happy to confirm that Edelman India has got the Microsoft India account”. Edelman will start work on Microsoft from July 1st, 2014.
The Microsoft account is one of the biggest in India covering 5 lines of business including the all-important Consumer business that covers Windows 8 , Windows Phone and Xbox 360,Xbox Live and hands free Kinect gaming. Last year, Microsoft positioned its overarching messaging to state that it’s now a devices and services company- a messaging that has been strengthened with its buyout of Nokia services and devices.
According to Mashable, Microsoft may be launching its new Android based Nokia X device as early as Tuesday.
