Minari Shah to take over as Director, Corporate Communications, Amazon India

Seasoned corporate communications veteran, Minari Shah, is set to take over the lead corporate communications function for Amazon India. Shah, who is currently head, corporate communications Tata Motors Limited, will join Amazon from mid August.

Shah who has spent twenty years in corporate communications and business journalism will be based out of Mumbai.  Amazon India has been without a director for corporate communications since Meenu Handa, currently head of corporate communications for Google India, quit in January this year.

Apart from working with Mahindra & Mahindra, Dell India and HSBC India, Shah has also worked as a journalist at the start of her career with 'The Hindu Businessline ' and 'Business India'.

Amazon India is one of the big 3 online retailers in India along with Flipkart and Snapdeal. Amazon has committed to investing another 3 billion dollars into its India operations, perhaps in anticipation of Alibaba's entry into online retail in India. Alibaba's entry is expected to see a pitched battle for the top position in India with Amazon.

With the hire at Amazon India complete, the other massive IT company still in search for a senior PR hire is Facebook. Market sources told PRmoment India, that the India office for Facebook has shortlisted 3 people for the position.
