Samsung India hires Adfactors PR in place of Weber Shandwick for PR

Samsung India, one of the largest consumer electronics and mobile brands in India, has hired Adfactors PR to handle its PR mandate for one year. Adfactors PR, which will handle the entire Samsung portfolio of products nation wide, replaces Weber Shandwick as the PR firm for the consumer giant.

Sources told PRmoment India that Weber had received a notice for discontinuing its contract with Samsung last month. While, both Adfactors PR and Edelman India were in the top two shortlist, it was Adfactors that won the mandate.

The head of corporate communications for Samsung India, Partha Ghosh, did not comment on the news. 

Samsung Mobiles, has consistently been the most trusted consumer brand in India. While 2016 was a tough year for Samsung with battery issues with Note 7 leading to the company recalling it worldwide, the phone was never launched here in India. 

Samsung is the second largest consumer facing brand in India , across mobiles and household electronics; second only to Maruti Suzuki. It has 46,000 employees in India, 2 plants and 2 R&D centres.
