The BOB Project (Business over Brunch/Breakfast) officially launched its digital discovery and commerce platform, aiming to formalize and scale India’s vast but fragmented homegrown brand economy.
Founded by growth & strategy expert Shipra Jena and technology entrepreneur Alpana Chibber, the initiative enters the market at a time when women-owned enterprises have surged to nearly 39% of all registered MSMEs in India.
Despite the rise of D2C brands, many women entrepreneurs struggle with high customer acquisition costs (CAC) and limited access to formal markets. The BOB Project solves this by integrating a high-trust networking community with a transactional engine.
Recent economic indicators for 2026 highlight that while nearly 1.8 crore women lead businesses in India, over 95% remain concentrated in the micro-sector. The BOB Project is designed to break this "micro-ceiling" through a phased growth strategy that enables cross-border trade without the traditional overhead costs.
“We are not just launching a platform; we are architecting a high-velocity marketing funnel for the hidden gems of the Indian economy,” said Shipra Jena, co-founder and growth & strategy architect. “By aggregating 500+ brands into a data-driven ecosystem, we are creating a proprietary network that predicts consumer trends and demand. We are currently in active discussions for our initial seed funding round to further automate our tech stack and take the 'Business over Brunch' model to every major continent, ensuring that every woman founder has the infrastructure to scale.”
Co-founder Alpana Chibber emphasized the technical simplicity behind the project’s global vision. “Our technology is built to empower, not overwhelm. We’ve created a seamless path where a founder can transition from a local popup to a global storefront in minutes. The intersection of community and commerce is where the future of women-led business lies, and we are building the rails for that journey.”
