Sonal Choithani, previously chief brand & communications officer and head of market development with Hindustan Zinc, has now joined global natural resources major Vedanta as group chief brand & communications officer.

This is her second stint with Vedanta. From 2019 to 2024, Sonal worked as chief brand & communications officer at Vedanta's aluminium business.

Sonal announced her move back to Vedanta via a LinkedIn post earlier this week, "6 years, 3 roles, 1 Group. And the love for metals continues. Excited to step into my new role as Group Chief Brand & Communications Officer at Vedanta Group.

This journey continues to be an absolute privilege, starting from Vedanta Limited - Aluminium Business to our iconic Hindustan Zinc and now stepping into the group-wide portfolio of one of the largest and fastest growing natural resource conglomerates in the world.

I'm particularly excited about this role as we stand on the cusp of  #Vedanta 2.0 – our evolution into a future-focused business built on critical minerals, energy transition metals, oil & gas, energy and technology.

A science graduate from Bhopal University, Sonal has spent over 20 years brand side with firms such as Usha Shriram, ICICI Bank and Fidelity International.
