Vasundhara Mudgil, formerly head of comms for Spotify in India, has moved to OpenAI as its head of comms for India.
India is OpenAI's second-largest market globally, both in terms of developers and user base. Starting her PR career in 2007 with Genesis Burson-Marsteller, Vasundhara has also worked at Intel.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently announced plans for OpenAI to open its first office in Delhi in the latter half of 2025, per Livemint.
Earlier this year, Sheeladitya Mohanty was appointed as marketing lead for India, with Pragya Misra, public policy and partnerships lead, becoming the first India hire for OpenAI in 2024
The company is on a hiring drive across major cities in India to ramp up local AI talent to work with Indian start-ups.
