Women in Tech: Lenovo appoints Shonali Chakravarty as APAC communications leader for its' Data Center Group

Walking the talk on strengthening diversity and women leadership, Lenovo’s Data Center Group business has hired Shonali Chakravarty as the head of communications for the APAC region. Catering to servers, storage and networking infrastructure needs of organisations, the Data Center Group’s business in the region encompasses 13 countries. These include key markets like India, Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, and South Korea. 

As part of her mandate, Chakravarty will drive the Data Center Group’s internal and external communication efforts across APAC’s multilingual and diverse geographies. Reporting to Sachin Bhatia, CMO, Lenovo Data Center Group, APAC, she will provide strategic counsel and support to the company’s APAC business, and will work closely with Sumir Bhatia, President of DCG, Asia-Pacific and his regional leadership team across the Asia-Pacific. 

Prior to this, Chakravarty was director, Communications for OYO, one of the world’s leading hotel chains where she helped run communications for India SA and key international markets. Before that, she has had an exciting stint at Uber heading policy and corporate communications for India SA. She has also spent time in the manufacturing sector having run strategic communications for Essar Group’s Oil & Gas and Power divisions and earned her stripes in public policy and financial PR during her time with Marsh & McLennan companies as well as Edelman.
