"I had a delightful summer vacation with my dog, Milo, in Uttarakhand in 2022. We stayed at a cosy homestay in Lansdowne, a town famous for its colonial charm and scenic views. Milo loved the private balcony and the comfortable bed. We explored the natural beauty and culture of Lansdowne, such as Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Tip-in-Top Point, Bhulla Tal Lake, and Darwan Singh Museum.

One of the highlights of our trip was taking a nature walk in the oak and pine forests surrounding Lansdowne. Milo was fascinated by the birds and the flowers. He also liked the breeze and the fragrance."

Last year, my son and I discovered our passion for trekking. We decided to choose a tough trek this year where kids are allowed. We decided to go for Ali Bedni Bugyal 6 days Trek. The meadows are considered amongst the most beautiful alpine meadows of Uttarakhand.

It is located at the Garhwal and Kumaon border in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. With no network and camping at the remotest places was breathtaking. With every ascend and descend, there was a life lesson of keep going no matter what. Sometimes, you are ahead in life, and sometimes, you are last; the only comparison should be with your own self and your determination to do better with every step. The best part, we both made new friends.

"This summer, I got an opportunity to visit Labuan Bajo, Flores Island located in the East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. Labuan Bajo is a gateway to the mesmerizing Komodo National Park, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This picture holds a special place in my heart as my husband and I found ourselves in the presence of a true marvel - a magnificent Komodo dragon. Reaching up to 10 feet in length and more than 300 pounds, Komodo dragons are the heaviest lizards on Earth.

As we stood alongside this ancient creature, we were blessed and scared with the perfect moment - an image that captured the essence of our awe-inspiring experience. It encapsulates cherished memories and a journey of exploration. In 1980, Indonesia established Komodo National Park to protect the Komodo dragon and its habitat."

In today's hectic work schedule, one needs to take out time for family and for themselves.

Our recent visit to Kasauli was a fine example of spending quality time with family, playing chess with my son, reading a book, celebrating Father's Day in the hills, trekking in the morning and father-son photography sessions.

Being a PR Professional, I realised with the promotion comes an increase in responsibility, accountability and commitment. For someone like me who has lived in Mumbai to breathe the dream life, other than once or twice a month I don't really travel back to my family in Gujarat.

But this year, something from within called for it. I wanted to be home with my family and was ready to take a month-long break. But luckily Covid taught us all how to WFH and my management, being very supportive of my decision, extended me this option. I was home to my newborn niece, my siblings and my parents.

"Capturing the essence of a lifetime adventure, this picture encapsulates the best of my summer holiday in Leh Ladakh. With my loved ones by my side, we embarked on a remarkable journey through breathtaking landscapes, winding roads, and captivating vistas. From the exhilarating bike trips to savoring delectable local cuisine, every moment was filled with pure joy.

We were blessed to witness the rare beauty of snowfall in the late days of May, adding a touch of magic to our already incredible experience."

"One yearly family vacation is very important for me. My kids are at that stage where they are ready to fly off the nest and I have made this a rule going forward too.

Our Stay at Jungle Hut in Masanigudi, off Ooty was just heaven on earth!

We were surrounded by nature, this place was bordering the forest so animals and birds galore. It was a memorable trip! It was aimed at exactly doing what we like most – enjoying long walks, appreciating nature, and nothing else! And then sharing our perspectives across the table during meal times. That to me is quality time spent together.

"My father, being a big-time travel junkie, always had grand plans for our summer vacations. He had a penchant for exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. One particular summer vacation that stands out in my memory is our family trip to the breathtakingly beautiful Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, India. It was the year 2017, and little did I know that this trip would leave an indelible mark on my heart.

To reach Tawang, we had to traverse the magnificent Sela Pass. The road journey to Tawang through Sela Pass was nothing short of awe-inspiring.

Another fascinating aspect of this trip was our visit to Madhuri Lake, which was originally known as Sangetsar Lake but was later renamed after the Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit.

In the 90s, a famous song called "Tanhai Tanhai" from the Bollywood movie "Koyla," starring Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit was filmed at the lake site. The song became famous and so did the lake, and soon after the lake was also named Madhuri Lake"

My visit to Rohtang Pass, Kullu Manali, Himachal Pradesh

"Rohtang Pass is a mountain pass in the Himalayas, 51 km from Manali, connecting the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys. It’s a popular attraction for adventure sports despite the danger of landslides.

A trip to Rohtang Pass matters because it provides a natural divide between the Kullu Valley with a primarily Sanatani culture (in the south), and the arid high-altitude Lahaul and Spiti valleys with a Buddhist culture (in the north). It’s an opportunity to experience two different cultures and breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

The pass is open from May to November and is an ancient trade route between the people on either side of Pir Panjal. It is a MUST-VISIT destination for anyone looking for adventure, culture, and natural beauty."

Recently my wife, Debashree and I went to Munnar.

We selected this place to travel to during this summer since we wanted to spend some quality time amidst nature without air and noise pollution. Since it was our first time visiting a tea plantation, we were super excited to see so many tea gardens in the entire city. We could also see sparrows and different types of birds which we hardly see in Bangalore.

Adding to this, we also saw raw spices liek cloves in trees. A trip to such location actually helps in getting energy and focus to work the entire year. The best transportation is by road. You can actually see the clouds and it is lovely to drive once you enter Munnar. Beautiful mountains make your trip a memorable and exciting one.

"In this snapshot of my memories, I stumble upon a faded photo of my dad and me, sitting on a ferry boat in Mumbai. It encapsulates a cherished moment, the first flight of my life, whisking me away to Essel World. In that nostalgic haze, I recall the joy of being enveloped by water."

Jodhpur has a cultural and historic heritage importance. It is my birthplace and 'nanhihal' (maternal parent's family). In 2013 during a summer vacation in my graduation days I visited Jodhpur with my mom.

Once with my uncle, aunty and their lil baby boy we visited the majestic Mehrangarh Fort. It is a testimony of Rajasthani culture, Rajput pride and Indian heritage. This is a place where many Hollywood and Bollywood movies have been shot. From Mehrangarh, we can see Umaid Bhawan at a distance and the blue painted homes nearby which gives it a name The Blue City.

Viewing the Blue City at sunset from the giant Mehrangarh Fort was one of the best summer views of my life. The beautiful memory that follows is that my Mom took us to a 40 year old snack shop in the old city area where I had the most delicious kachori and samosa (savouries) of my life."

This summer holiday has become my favorite due to the incredible journey I embarked on in the past 15 days. Words cannot fully capture the depth and richness of my experiences. I had the privilege of driving through three of the world's highest passes, immersing myself in the beauty and challenges of the terrain.

I ventured to India's farthest village, delving into a world so remote and captivating. Along the way, I had the honor of meeting remarkable individuals who left a lasting impact on me.

The weather added to the adventure, as I witnessed everything from snowfall to blizzards, each moment offering its own unique charm. The sunsets were nothing short of breathtaking, painting the sky with hues of vibrant colors. No picture or video could truly convey the magnificence of what I witnessed; it was as if I were trying to capture the vastness of the universe in a single snapshot.

What made this journey even more special was the timing. I celebrated my birthday in the midst of these awe-inspiring mountains, exactly where my heart belongs. It was a fulfillment of a promise I made to myself years ago, to always commemorate my birthdays in my favorite places. In Ladakh, I lived that dream, surrounded by the majestic peaks and creating memories that will stay with me for a lifetime."
