Gaurav Malhotra has joined as the India lead for Edelman Smithfield

Gaurav Malhotra has joined as the India lead for Edelman Smithfield, Edelman’s specialised financial communications boutique offering. Edelman shared the news in a post.

Gaurav brings nearly two decades of experience across investment banking, portfolio management and corporate development, investor relations and strategy. In his new role, he will advise clients on complex business developments, including acquisitions and divestments, restructurings, IPOs, C-suite transitions, ESG, regulatory matters and investor relations functions across a range of sectors.

Previously, Gaurav has headed corporate development, investor relations and strategy at MobiKwik. He was a portfolio manager of a Long/Short equity fund with a focus on the TMT, consumer and retail sectors at Pinpoint Asset Management (an Asia focused hedge fund with US$4bn of AUM). Prior to this, Gaurav worked at Citi as an equity research analyst for over a decade covering the telecom and internet sectors. 

He also worked at Fitch Ratings covering multiple sectors including telecom, media, metals & mining. Gaurav started his career with JP Morgan in investment banking in their TMT team, covering the APAC region.
