Carson Dalton joins Ola as director, community engagement

Carson Dalton, formerly head of communications, India and South Asia at Facebook, has joined Ola as director, community relations. He will be based in Gurgaon. In this role, he will report to Pranay Jivrajka, founding partner at Ola and handle engagements with key stakeholders in the ecosystem and partnerships for strategic priorities like electric vehicles. The stakeholders include government relations.

Dalton, who had a 6-year-long stint at BT going on to lead corporate communications for the firm at the APAC level, will have a separate line of reporting from the recently appointed CCO at Ola, Viraj Chouhan.

With urban mobility solutions such as Ola and Uber throwing focus on new areas of policy for all stakeholders, including the government, a community relations advocacy positon at Ola will be an important one.
