Michael Macfarlane Associates (MMA) has appointed Joe Wallen as global partner and head of India, as the London-headquartered global reputation strategy firm expands its presence across India and the wider Asian region.
The global firm works with wealth and business-owning families, to help them manage and protect their reputation by helping build institutions and legacies at scale.
Based in Mumbai, Wallen will lead MMA’s South Asia business, advising founders, business families, investors, corporates and institutions, while also supporting international clients operating in the market.
Ultra High Network Individuals ( UHNI) in India growing rapidly
As per a news report by Anarock, India’s high-net-worth individual (HNI) population is expected to jump from about 850,000 today to 1.65 million by 2027. The structure of the HNI is also changing to include tech entrepreneurs, founders and investors.
Additionally, one in 4 HNI is expected to be under the age of 40. India is also outpacing global growth in terms of UHNI populations. By 2028 this cohort is expected to grow by 50% much ahead of the global average of 30%.
Wallen is experienced India hand
Wallen joins MMA after more than a decade working across media, strategic communications and strategic consulting in India. He was previously The Daily Telegraph’s South Asia bureau chief, and South Asia consultant at global CEO advisory firm Teneo.
Michael Macfarlane, founder of MMA, said: “Our clients are building businesses, investment platforms, institutions and legacies of consequence on a global scale."
"India is central to the future of what we are building. Joe brings the experience, relationships and cultural fluency to help Indian founders, families and organisations operate globally, and to help international capital engage with India properly."
Wallen is also chairman of the British Business Group in India; the UK Government's on-ground networking and business arm.
