Heena Kanal joins pharma giant Cipla as corporate communications lead, quits Marico

Heena Kanal, who spent 7 years with Marico, manufacturer of the iconic Saffola and Parachute brands; has now joined Cipla as vice-president, corporate communications. Kanal, willl lead the communications function at the multi-billion dollar pharma company. The home-grown pharma major was instrumental in making HIV antiretroviral treatment affordable globally and is the world's largest manufacturer of the HIV treatment drugs.
Kanal, who is based in Mumbai, starts work today. Founded by the Hamied family, Cipla is one of the Sensex 30, i.e. among 30 of the Bombay Stock Exchange's largest and most actively traded stocks.
Heena Kanal, has 20 years of experience in PR and corporate communictions and is a graduate of Mumbai's Mithibhai college.
