Vuclip, the video on demand service (VOD) for emerging markets, has revealed its new brand logo.
Although the name of the company will remain the same, Vuclip felt they wanted to highlight a new visual identity that follows in accordance with their young consumer base.
The logo, which has been designed by Ogilvy and Mather, was inspired by ‘The two masks of drama’, Thalia, the muse of comedy, and Melpomene, the muse of tragedy. Influence for the design also stems from ‘emoticons’, which the mobile generation will be very familiar with.
Vishwajeet Rana, Senior Vice President of O&M said, “To be chosen to reinterpret the ‘brand identity’ of such a powerful brand was fantastic. The journey was at once exciting and demanding. It was easy because the Vuclip team breathes the brand values. But to design a logo that builds an emotional connection with the backdrop of mobile entertainment proved thought provoking. We believe the new logo delivers on all the expectations.”
