BCCI runs timely campaign to own a piece of history by tweeting #ThankYouSachin
It’s always hard to say goodbye to such an iconic figure. But BCCI (The Board of Control for Cricket in India) has come up with a great campaign to ease the pain. Till mid-week, if you tweeted BCCI with #ThankYouSachin you got your own personalised autographed digital picture from Sachin. The campaign run by BCCI and Digigraph is reported to have already crossed over 3 million tweets. From film stars to rock stars to sports stars and cricket captains, everyone is thanking Sachin.
And of course PRmoment India also has its own piece of history to hold close. And what can one say but #ThankYouSachin!
Take Poo to the Loo! A great social media campaign, by UNICEF, against open defecation in India
This is a topic, no one wants to really talk about! But with World Toilet Day falling on Tuesday this week it becomes very relevant for UNICEF to spread the message about the lack of toilets in India. 620 million Indians daily are defecating in the open. That’s half the population dumping over 65 million kilos of poo out there every day. According to UNICEF, if this poo continues to be let loose on us, there will be no escaping the stench of life threatening infections, diseases and epidemics.
UNICEF with the help of a clever social media campaign encourages people to join the ‘Take Poo to the Loo’ campaign and pledge your support to a poo-free nation. You can log on to this website, pull the flush in the top right corner of the page and join the campaign by signing a personal pledge that will reach the Hon’ble President of India.
UNICEF has also created a cute poo dabba dance to show the problems of open defecation:
You can also donate at the site. This is a very important issue affecting not only the health and dignity of our fellow Indians but also affects the safety of our women folk. So as UNICEF says on their site: "if you give a shit about this issue, then don’t just scrunch up your nose and walk away.”
