42 per cent of Urban India voters are still undecided on whom to vote for

A Google India survey, ‘Urban India Voters’, has revealed that 42 percent of Urban Indian registered voters are still undecided about whom to vote for in the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections. However, 94 percent assured they will definitely be voting.

The survey also revealed that young urban India are deeply involved in the electoral process, with 85 percent of respondents having voted before (64 percent of these were 18-25).

35 percent of respondents said their decision will be based on the party, and rather interestingly 11 percent said the Prime ministerial candidate will play an important role.

The infographic below also highlights the top internet searches surrounding the elections, with Narenda Modi being the most searched politician and Bharatiya Janata Party being the most searched political party.

However, voters were not particularly satisfied with the information provided on the internet at this point in the process, with 45 percent wishing for more political material to be available on the internet.
