When I came across this Facebook post by Skateboard Media’s Manas Mrinal, I immediately penned a quick congrats, with a mental sigh to my own unwritten book:
Fooled you too, didn’t it? This stylish looking ’book’, is actually a press invite, based on a concept and storytelling design by Skateboard Media. The actual creatives of the invite were done by advertising veteran, Anand Suspi, c—founder, AndAnd.
Skateboard put together this invite for 22 Motors , a young brand that has developed an Electric Vehicle Prototype called Flow which was showcased to media earlier this month.
The vehicle will be officially announced in the Auto Expo 2018 for sale to consumers. As EVs are said to be the next big revolution in auto industry the entire idea to engage media interest was to showcase why is it so.
The entire concept of this innovative invite was to show the evolution of automobiles and thus the Invite was named ‘5 Things that changed the way mankind travels’
Each journalist received a personalised invite:
Says Manas Mrinal, c0-founder, Skateboard MEdia, “ Our philosophy was that media comes in to play a huge role in bringing out the real story behind any innovation. In a sense they are co-authors of that chapter and keeping the same in mind the invite was made.”
Adds Mrinal, “ The fact remains that many Tier A media don’t usually cover prototype launches. But, the invite received outstanding response from media where many of them posted pictures of it on social handles and went on to the extent of sharing with us at the event that they were attending the launch only because the invite was so interesting.”
