Rajiv Banerjee takes over as Group Head, corporate communications at Piramal Enterprises Limited

Former 'Brand Equity' editor and senior VP at corporate communications for HDFC, Rajiv Banerjee, has joined Piramal as the group head for corporate communications.

Indicating his move a day before the announcement of joining Piramal, Banerjee stated in a LinkedIn post "Signed off from #hdfcbank on the 31st of December, 2021.I t has been a wonderful journey of immense learning for nearly a decade. I take with me, not just the knowledge and experience of working for one of the top banks in India, but also the relationships I have forged over the years. I wish to convey my heartfelt gratitude to the organisation and my former colleagues in the bank.

A big shout out to the professionals managing security at the Bank premises. Throughout my stint, every morning and evening, I have always seen them with a smile on their faces. They, in my opinion, epitomize professionalism and are the frontline brand ambassadors of the bank. Thank you to them!"

The Piramal group is a home grown MNC with interests in areas as wide as pharma, life sciences, real estate and financial services. In 2020 the group clocked a consolidated revenues were ~US$1.7 Billion , as per the company website.

With over 25 years of experience in journalism and corporate communications Banerjee has an extensive educational background as well. This includes a law degree (LLB) from the University of Mumbai and degrees in public policy from ISB, Hyderabad and Takshashila, Bengaluru.
