Ruder Finn wins Xiaomi India mandate

India's leading smartphone firm, Xiaomi India, has hired Ruder Finn India to handle its communications mandate.
Ruder Finn will manage the brand’s pan-India communications mandate starting this month. IT, AI, cleantech and consumer tech remains a strong focus for the firm in India.
The mobile, personal and home tech company is India's leading smartphone seller. According to Counterpoint India's report in January 2020, Xiaomi grew 7% year on year in the last quarter of 2019. Of course, growth figures would be redrawn significantly in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
India, however, is the world's second-largest smartphone market, second to the USA. Low data rates have also meant swift adoption of smartphones here, with Tier 2 and 3 cities also actively making use of smartphones for entertainment, shopping and even for fintech functions.
