Sarah Gideon is the new head of corporate communication at Flipkart

After over a decade at Infosys as head of corporate communications, Sarah Gideon has today joined e-tailer giant Flipkart as the head of corporate communications.

Last year, Walmart bought out Flipkart in a 16 billion dollar deal, said to be the biggest acquisition ever for the storied US retailer.

The acquisition included Flipkart digital payments subsidiary Phone Pe, estimated by market experts to be on its way to becoming a unicorn in its own right.

The current corporate communications team at Flipkart will report to Gideon, she, in turn, will report to Rajneesh Kumar, SVP and chief corporate affairs officer at Flipkart.

An honours student in Economics from the iconic St.Stephen's College, Delhi University, Gideon has over 15 years of PR and corporate communications experience. She has also spent 4 years with 20:20 Media before her time with Infosys.

Gideon takes over a year after Flipkart parted ways with Senjam Raj Shekhar who was vice president - corporate communications, in April 2018.

Flipkart is currently running its annual big bang Diwali sale with a tie-up with SBI to offer discounts.
