Blackberry’s Varghese Thomas quits

Varghese M. Thomas, director of corporate communications, India and greater China region for Blackberry has resigned. He is currently serving his notice and will leave Blackberry by the end of September. A very senior corporate communications leader, Thomas has led corporate communications for Blackberry for India and China both -an unusual portfolio for PR leads based from India.
Thomas has been with Blackberry for four and a half years and handling one of the most challenging jobs in corporate commmunications through Blackberry's troubles with declining market share and its transition from a device make to a services and software firm.
Thomas started his career in PR with Corporate Voice Weber Shandwick and has since 2001 worked with tech companies Cisco and Intel.
Backberry India has seen several senior level exits in the last few months including that of its MD, Sunil Lalvani.
